Attar Oil
The word attar derives from the Persian word atr, meaning “essence” or “sweet fragrance.” Attars have been used to enhance spirituality throughout the East by men and women for thousands of years. These exotic fragrances are worn as sacred perfumes by Hindus and Buddhists during meditation practices. The mystical Sufi worshipers use attars during prayer and meditative dances. Prophet Muhammad related to them as one of the most beloved of gifts that has been given to mankind. There are many references to these perfume oils in Sanskrit literature, the original language of Hinduism, which reveals that oils were made in ancient India by placing holy flowers and sacred plants into water or vegetable oil. The earliest attar distillation was mentioned in the Ayurvedic literature known as the Charaka Samhita. Cosmetics and perfumes were made primarily for worship and sensual enjoyment. The seven attar oils scents are exotic aromas based on ancient recipes, each of which is a fragrant work of art made from naturally aromatic ingredients chosen from around the world. Just a small amount applied to the body releases indulgent fragrances that linger for hours. Created for both men and women, they have been especially selected for their innate qualities to attract positive vibrations of love, bliss, purity, vitality, protection and inner awakening. They are sought for their high-quality scents that are both mentally and spiritually transforming.
